Inspiration at Joshua Tree

Last week I was so lucky to visit Joshua Tree National Park in California for the first time. We hiked the Hidden Valley Nature Trail filled with rocks and native plants. I’m not going to lie, it was very cold and rainy so the trail was harder than I expected. The rocks were slippery and I had to slow down, so I honed in on the texture in the rocks and plants all around me. The subdued desert colors of browns and greens led me to think about pieces I’ve made with these colors and ideas for future work. I’ve added some of the desert scenery below from my visit and jewelry I’ve created that makes me think of this spectacular place.
