Celebrating three years with a Giveaway and a New Collection!
Thank you Thank you Thank you! This month Lori Aks Jewelry celebrates it’s third year in business. Behind the scenes I’ve been working for months developing the direction for this collection. I’ve hand fabricated and used wax carvings to create the crinkly curves designed to coordinate and connect with my past collections. The Crinkled Spiral motif that is the centerpiece of this collection is a symbol for personal growth and discovery. I keep coming back to the crinkled texture in my pieces (ie. Crinkled Hoops) because I think it adds depth and dimension visually and shows that the process of self discovery is full of twists and turns. You will find pearls and salt and pepper diamond elements to anchor the oxidized silver pieces. Coming soon are some 14K gold crinkled spirals and I plan to continue to release one of a kind pieces to the collection throughout 2024.
I’ve learned so much in the three years since I started my home based art jewelry practice. Like the collection says, there are lots of twists and turns as I’ve tried to amplify my skills and creative path. I’ve learned it is fine to start over when the result is not what you had in mind, but I’ve also learned to give an idea some time time to develop and sometmes a happy result bubbles up.
